Matthew Taylor

As a Registered Architect and Associate, I oversee projects from start to finish. My responsibilities include project planning, resource management, and maintaining the quality of design and documentation. I also liaise with clients and consultants and manage the team to ensure timelines are met.

Career Journey: I began my academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Science in Design from Clemson University in South Carolina, USA, followed by a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). My professional career includes over 20 years’ experience working across NSW. As a registered architect and design practitioner, I have worked on a diverse range of projects including libraries, community centers, university projects, sporting facilities, industrial projects, aviation, breweries, childcare facilities, immigration facilities, teaching facilities, offices, hospitality venues, apartments, townhouses, and private homes.

Passion and Achievements: I thrive on meeting new challenges and enjoy taking complex projects from the concept phase to completion, especially seeing the positive impact on the end-users of community facilities. Contributing to the urban fabric of the cities I live in is particularly rewarding. I have been fortunate to be part of project teams that have won both AIA and UDIA awards, which is a testament to the quality and impact of the work I have been involved in.

Personal Interests and Hobbies: Outside of work, I have a keen interest in history and maps. I am an avid sports fan, enjoying AFL, rugby, American football, soccer, and basketball. Traveling around Australia with my family is a favorite pastime, and I have a passion for Southern BBQ.

Future Goals: My future goals include developing a deep knowledge of Newcastle and its surrounding areas and contributing significantly to the office culture and growth. I aim to leverage my experience to help drive the practice forward, ensuring we continue to deliver outstanding architectural solutions.
