As Technical Design Manager at Webber Architects, I oversee the design of projects, ensuring that all work adheres to quality standards and complies with regulations. My role involves taking charge of specific design solutions, reviewing key design documents, and supporting project leaders in identifying and managing risks. Collaboration is central to my work, as I work closely with clients, stakeholders, and the team to deliver exceptional results that meet the needs of each project. My focus is on creating innovative, functional, and high-quality designs that enhance both the spaces and the lives of those who use them.
Career Journey: I’ve been passionate about architecture since childhood, which led me to first pursue a degree in Engineering to deepen my understanding of construction. I later expanded my expertise with studies in Architecture and a Master’s degree in Barcelona. During my student years, I gained a true understanding of what it means to be an architect while working for the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and the Association of Architects in Barcelona.
I further developed my skills in private practices, working on projects ranging from the restoration and renovation of historic buildings to the design of new apartment complexes. From 2003 to 2013, I successfully ran my own practice, focusing on interventions in existing buildings and luxury residential projects. Since moving to Australia in 2013, my work has expanded to include community buildings such as schools, libraries, and theatres, while maintaining my involvement in a wide range of residential projects.
Passion and Achievements: Designing is fundamentally about people—the communities, families, students, and residents who will inhabit the spaces we create. I’m passionate about crafting environments that enhance lives and experiences. This love for people feeds my passion for design, as I thrive on visualising possibilities and turning ideas into reality.
Some of my significant projects include Yass High School Hall, Queanbeyan Public School Hall, Oberon Library, Picton Smart Hub, and The Eliza Remedial Works. Each project has been a chance to contribute meaningfully to communities while meeting the highest standards of design and quality.
Interests and Hobbies: Outside of work, I’m a family person at heart, cherishing time with loved ones. I enjoy walking in the mountains, swimming at the beach, attending concerts, exploring museums, wandering through markets, and embracing social events. These activities provide a sense of balance and inspiration.
Future Goals: My goal is to achieve happiness and contentment through design — creating thoughtful solutions that delight clients, inspire teams, and deliver exceptional results. I am eager to embrace new projects, confident in the knowledge that I am part of a team united by a shared passion for design and innovation. On a personal note, I’m excited to soon welcome my second child, a milestone that brings immense joy and fulfillment.
